An individual can use a blog to promote virtually any kind of business, product, service, or niche online. It is a very efficient tactic of getting the word out over the Internet at little to no cost.

Everyone is searching for something online and a blog can do an exceptional job of getting the message to a whole lot of people. In this article I will discuss how blogs can boost or even more precisely maximize the possibilities of these 5 leading niche market segments.

The MLM or Multi-Level Marketing industry is one of the most popular and enduring since the 1970′s. Because this industry has continued to create millionaires it is a natural attraction for many individuals seeking to make their fortunes online.

The use of affiliate marketing programs remains to be one of the hottest ways to generate an income online available today. It is considered by many, especially newbies to online marketing to be probably the easiest way to make money on the Internet, selling other peoples products or services. Because all of the heavy work is usually already done for you, things like product creation, and customer service the affiliate marketer can relax and leave the aggravation to others. In affiliate marketing it is crucial for the affiliate to get their special link to the product or service he is promoting seen and accessed by others if they are to make a good income, using blogs give the marketer an opportunity to put his link in each blog post that he submits to his blog site giving his link incredible exposure.

That would certainly establish a unique volume of association with the readership and develop a positive measure of credibility just for him.

Students from 1st grade to college can make use of personalized blogs to connect with other classmates to compare and exchange concepts and information on subjects that they are interested in. Blogs for Technology Companies: Your Biggest Questions Answered

By Sharon Bailly -

Business-to-business and technology companies often avoid blogging; it takes time, it feels more exposed than a website, and it has a lingering reputation for frivolity. But blogging brings new life to a static technical website and reinforces your marketing message for both readers and search engines. Those results are worth going after. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about blogs for technology and B2B companies.

What Can We Blog About?

White papers and success stories (or case studies) are strong marketing tools for companies that offer B2B and technology products, services, and solutions. Think of your blog posts as chapters or sections of a larger white paper and as a vehicle for your success stories. You might discuss the latest industry trends; solutions on the horizon; or research you’re undertaking. You might describe recent customer problems and their solution; the industry standards you meet or exceed; and your approach to compliance issues. Perhaps you have advice for customers on how to choose among the companies that offer products or services similar to your own.

Each of those topics, just a sampling of the many available, could generate several posts over a year.

Where Should We Blog?

You should first of all blog on your own site to gain the advantage of new content and repeated keywords. But also consider contributing to a group blog site that is specific to your industry, location, or field; your appearance on another blog confirms your expertise, and your post will be read by the exact audience you want to attract.

How Much Work Is Involved?

Don’t begin a blog unless you can commit to one new post per week. A lapsed blog proclaims that you don’t care about quality or timeliness, and you don’t care who knows it.

Drive traffic to your blog by announcing it to current and potential customers. Send customers to your blog for the answers to frequently asked questions. Link to your blog from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media. Include your blog in your overall marketing campaign and mention it in your marketing collateral.

If you have no one in your company who can write, promote, and maintain the blog, hire a freelance writer.

Blog or E-Newsletter or…?

Blogs and newsletters are not mutually exclusive. An e-newsletter that provides a click through to an interesting post guides customers directly to your website, one of your major goals. Customers who would never write a letter to an editor will comment on a blog, giving you a chance to grow the relationship.

Old newsletter articles are a gold mine for current blog posts; a longer article can be broken up into several posts. By the same token, a group of posts is an excellent start towards a longer article or even a white paper.

When it comes to technical content, reuse, recycle–blog!

What Are the Most Popular Blogs?

By Emmett Richards -

As you may very well already know, blogs have taken the world by storm. Giving a voice to those who may have otherwise not had a voice. But, when you are searching for your own personal blog inspiration, you may be a bit stumped as to what kind of blog writing is for you.

Well, as a blog writer, there are many different options for you to choose from, one of the most popular types being the personal blog. Oddly enough, these types of blogs, which follow the daily life of any one-blog writer, have become a phenomenon on the World Wide Web. Despite the personal nature of the blogs, they have captured the hearts and attention of many across the globe, but why? Well, we as human beings often times find entertainment in another person’s journey through life.

Such as reality television, blogging will give you insight into the writer’s every-day life. However, that isn’t the only type of blog out there, on the contrary! There are thousands of different types of blogs. From Corporate Blog posting, genre posting, media blogs, and device blogs, there are countless choices to choose from.

But, moms and stay at home parents have seemed to take it one step further. Many companies are now standing up and taking notice of the clout that these freelance writers have, from free advertisement by dishing out samples to write-a-holic mothers, to poor reviews. Blogging can hold the ability to either make or break a company, especially since numerous blogs now get thousands of “hits” every day.

When thinking about blogs, you will want to know what a “hit” is, especially if you want to start blogging yourself. A “hit” is when a reader clicks on your blogs link. Every time your visitor counter goes up, that is what the market now deems as a “hit”. The more of these visitors, the higher the traffic, the more notoriety is said to come from the blogging experience.

The key to a successful blog is getting and keeping this notoriety of your readers. If you falter one too many times, you risk loosing your credibility with them. With this said if you are writing to write, that might not be such a big deal. However, if you plan to create your own blogging business, you will want to ensure that you’re keeping your readers entertained and willing to come back for your next big blog post. Remember, despite the fact that a blog may be popular, if it isn’t updated frequently, people will loose interest in checking up on a blog.

So, lets recap. The most popular form of blogging tends to be informative blogging done by consumers, and personal blogs. While corporate blogs do fairly well, they aren’t always the favorite as customers want reviews or stories from people just like them. The average Joe writer will see far more success in the world of blogging than any corporate business out there. So, if you can relate to it, it becomes more real and thus, is an entertaining and insightful way to spend a good hour or two on the Internet.

Blogs – Moving Out Of The Old School To The New School In Marketing

By Demet Dayanch -

If your business doesn’t have a business blog then you are either over eighty and just too damn old-school to change, or you have no intention of making your business grow.

In today’s age having a business blog is a must. It’s as vital as a business card. It’s the new way forward. With so many people using the Internet on a continual and daily basis, it only makes sense to use it for your business. It’s not enough to just have a website. Blogs should be part of your online marketing toolkit, indeed as a central element of it.

Blogs can be used in a number of different ways according to your business requirements but all centered around the ideas of two-way communication with prospects and customers (essentially leading to conversations and connections) as well as general marketing and business development.

Blogs are beneficial in many ways: Setting apart your business, products and services; attracting prospective customers and developing new business opportunities; marketing your business through the media and online discussions; becoming an integral part of your search engine marketing; creating a mode of communication through comments and discussions; and finally but by no means least being a fabulous avenue to increase your visibility and brand. It really is the perfect marketing tool.

All of these benefits give your business expertise status, and when a customer is looking to buy a product or service they always want to go with the most reputable and knowledgeable company. That could and should be you!

Business Blogs are also a really cost-effective way of drumming up business. It won’t even touch your marketing budget.

The beauty of Blogs is that there is a personal touch to them. Websites are very much salesy and have to be informative in a businesslike and often concise way. Blogs differ in that they can reach the person, and are more about collecting and sharing ideas and relevant information with your customers and prospects. This in turn generates mutual trust and builds to a relationship, which is more like a partnership than the typical supplier-customer sales relationship.

In effect Blogs help to personalise your company and the products and services that you offer, which in return increases the value of your organisation. The combination of personal touch and increased value results in higher levels of trust so that readers of your Blog become your customers as well as your sales team spreading your word across other blogs and forums, whether that be through linking your articles, talking about you in their own blogs, or adding comments to your blog page. All these increase SEO – one of the key elements to becoming a popular site on the net.

It’s clear then that a Business Blog is a powerful marketing tool for small businesses and large corporate companies alike. So easy to create, even an eighty-year old-schooler could get to grips with it quickly. There should be nothing retro about business in today’s fast growing age when the future is present.

Rant Blogs

By Joseph Sanders -

I love rant blogs. I also envy the writers behind these sites. I am not fearless enough to risk danger to my name and reputation the way they do. They are exceptional, for writing so openly about someone or something requires skill, knowledge, and guts-things I never gained from my parents and my vast blogging experience.

Yet not all rant blogs are acceptable and palatable to me. Actually, some rant blogs today are nothing but mediocre carbon copies of rant blogs I once considered as the “future” of blogs, those pioneering blogs that lambasted and criticized large corporations, movies, products, and the pop culture itself. Maybe, I thought, just like any ordinary human being, the writers behind my favorite rant spaces aged, got married, built a family, and seriously devoted their lives to it, and eventually quit blogging for good. I yearn for those years when rant blogging was only for those who have the courage to do it, and who do it for the sake of honesty and not of money. Anyway, before we stray from the matter at hand, rant blogging is slowly becoming popular these days. They are back, and a lot of them have sprouted like mushrooms just this 1st quarter of this year. Yet I am still not happy.

Although my favorite blogging style is now present on the Web, most of the blogs failed to entice me. As a self-confessed fan of rant spaces, I see these newborn rant sites as critic sites that lack something early rant sites had. I cannot understand why most of rant space writers today have to use bad, derogatory, racist, and politically incorrect terms just to gain readers and attention and to make their names and blogs controversial, I really cannot get why they have to do that. Years back, early rant writers did not have to talk like metropolitan hooligans to be believable and convincing. The only thing they had that time was the superb knowledge about their topic. If it is about movies, expect them to be 120% movie geeks; they would know everything about it, from analyzing scripts to actors and actresses’ backgrounds to director’s recent girlfriend to cinematography and cameo appearances. Yet now, rant writers are just foul-mouthed critics that talk nonsense. They lambaste pop culture icons while frothing with their own nonsense words.

One thing I noticed is that most of the criticism written by this new breed rant writers today lack the cojones that would give their critic piece some character and reputation. I have seen and read a lot of them who can’t stand by their ideas and beliefs. Some of them make disclaimers and apology when an infuriated commenter fights back on their blogs. Frankly speaking, I hate bloggers who use a ‘disclaimer’ to protect themselves from further reader fury.

Yet rant blogging is not just about lambasting, criticizing, carping, and complaining. These things should come with the skills I have mentioned earlier, as well as with the goal to correct and help people, and improve things the writer sees as improper and incorrect.
